The idea to provide a database for equations of state which can be used in all kinds of astrophysical applications has been born still during the lifetime of the ESF-funded European research network CompStar. While we experienced kind support from the community which gathered around this project CompOSE’s core team now consists of Stefan Typel (GSI, Germany), Micaela Oertel (LUTH, Observatoire de Paris, France), and Thomas Klähn (California State University Long Beach, USA), recently joined by Chikako Ishizuka (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan). You can reach this team of core members under the following e-mail address:
develop.compose (at) obspm.fr
The web site has been created by Marco Mancini and Mathieu Servillat (LUTH, Observatoire de Paris, France)
Thanks to all the contributors of EoS data, see the corresponding data sheet.
A major update of the data base and its tools is currently underway with the help from the PHAROS community and in particular Debarati Chatterjee, Veronica Dexheimer, Matthias Hanauske, Jérôme Novak, Helena Pais, José Pons, Constança Providencia, Adriana Raduta, Lami Suleiman, and Laura Tolos.
